It’s hot out there! And I don’t mean just the July temperatures. This South-of-the-Border burger is an easy, spicy meal that can be whipped up in no time, thanks to the convenience of ready-made buns by companies like Udi’s, Rudi’s, or Schar (to name a few).
Whether you choose beef, turkey or vegetarian – the object here is to get out of that hot kitchen as fast as you can!
I’ve made these using turkey to which I’ve added: onion, bell pepper, corn, garlic salt (or powder), pepper, chili powder and a little cayenne pepper. Sometimes I add some crushed gluten free tortilla chips. It makes another tasty addition and helps to hold the burgers together. If you choose to add them – remember they usually contain salt so season accordingly.
Lightly toast the bun, add a little lettuce, the grilled burger, some Jack cheese (Pepper Jack is also a yummy choice), some of your favorite salsa and avocado and voila!
Note: The delicious gluten free beer shown above is Redbridge by Anheuser-Busch.
